SQL Server Database Administrator II

What you'll do:
Under the supervision of the senior level team members, this mid-level database administrator manages and maintains all production and non-production databases. Responsible for following and enforcing company database standards, maintenance activities, as well as access and security administration. Performs backup and recovery, patching and upgrades. This position facilitates database access reviews for SOX and PCI, allocates/re-allocates database resources for optimum configuration. Works with both senior and junior team members in the day-to-day support and operations of the ascena database environment.
Position Responsibilities:
- Designs and build SQL Server database environments.
- Design and document database architecture.
- Data Modeling.
- Troubleshooting and performance tuning SQL Server databases.
- Working with application owners to resolve database issues.
- Operations and Monitoring of the environment.
- Patching and upgrades.
- Performing backup and cloning.
- Participates in the 24/7 on-call rotation
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline is required, and an advanced degree is a plus
- Minimum of 5 years of SQL Server Database Administration experience
- Hands-on experience administering SQL Server databases version 2000, 2005, 2008 2008 R2, 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2017.
- Experience with SQL Server “Always On Availability”
- Experience installing, configuring and administering SQL Server databases on physical and virtual servers.
- Expert level experience with performance tuning
- Experience with Spotlight monitoring
- Excellent knowledge writing SQL.
- Demonstrated ability in creating SSIS packages.
- Experience with mid to large size organizations
- Demonstrated ability to be highly organized and results driven
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience supporting Retail application databases is a plus
- Experience with Oracle, IBM Netezza, Cassandra or Teradata is a plus
- Relative certifications are a plus.
- Experience with Sarbanes Oxley and or PCI is a plus.
- Ability to be on call 24x7 and have a flexible work schedule
