Compliance Database Administrator II

What you'll do:
Under the supervision of the DBA Manager, this Database Administrator will be primarily responsible for coordinating all Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) audit activities for SQL Server, Oracle, Netezza, and Teradata. Secondary responsibilities will involve the day to day database administration of SQL Server and/or Oracle. Will work closely with Security and Compliancy teams, internal/external auditors as well as application owners.
Position Responsibilities:
- Functions as a liaison between ascena’s Compliancy and DBA teams.
- Will work closely with internal and external auditors to provide database evidence for audits.
- Responsible for coordinating with fellow DBA team members to insure all database environments are compliant with current SOX and security policies.
- Perform database access reviews
- Maintains database architecture documentation.
- Troubleshooting and performance tuning databases.
- Working with application owners to resolve database issues.
- Operations and Monitoring of the environment.
- Patching and upgrades.
- Performing backup and cloning.
- Participates in the 24/7 on-call rotation
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline is required, and an advanced degree is a plus
- Experience with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) and or PCI is required.
- Must have experience working with internal/external auditors.
- Minimum of 5 years of Oracle or SQL Server Database Administration experience
- Experience installing and configuring Oracle or SQL Server databases on physical and virtual environments
- Experience with performance tuning clustered databases.
- Experience with backup/restore, cloning and replication
- Experience with Database monitoring tools (OEM, Ignite, Spotlight, etc)
- Must have understanding of ITSM processes
- Demonstrated ability to create batch scripts for task automation
- Experience with mid to large size organizations
- Demonstrated ability to be highly organized and results driven
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience supporting Retail application databases is a plus
- Experience with MS-SQL, IBM Netezza, Cassandra or Teradata is a plus
- Relative certifications are a plus
- Ability to be on call 24x7 and have a flexible work schedule
