Summary:

Loads, unloads, and moves materials within the Distribution Center. Operates and maintains outbound packaging machine(s) on a daily basis. Operates case erectors to ensure packing materials are accessible to packers. Performs daily PM on erectors. Monitors and maintains the quality and accuracy of the machines. Handles and tracks building supplies and packing inserts.

Available Schedules:

Full-Time Hours: 7:00am-5:00pm Monday through Friday and every other Saturday 7:00am-5:00pm as needed.

Starting Wage: $11.50/hour

This position is located in our Wausau, Wisconsin Distribution Center. Employee health is our #1 priority, so we are providing on-site social distancing, PPE and sanitizing stations.

Responsibilities

  • Follows written or oral instructions pertaining to materials to be moved for all departments of the Distribution Center. Communicates affectively over the radio.
  • Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, case erectors, and shelves either by hand or with industrial power equipment. Some projects may require the use of hand tools, power tools, and compressed air tools.
  • Maintains files of inbound packing slips, which have been verified from inbound shipments.
  • Records amount of units and type of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet. Track insert inventory and report discrepancies. Works with Procurement Coordinator on monthly inventory of materials. Work with vendors on needs and quality of material.
  • Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers.
  • Occasionally operate boxline and bagger machinery. Be familiar with all case erectors.
  • Ensures packing materials are accessible to packaging associates.
  • Keeps work area clean, neat and organized.
  • Reports any machine or equipment malfunctions to maintenance to ensure all material handling equipment is safe and in proper working order.
  • Operates all industrial power equipment in order to assist and expedite loading or unloading materials and products.
  • Gains an understanding of case erecting system processes and utilizes knowledge to accurately troubleshoot and issues that may arise in a timely manner.
  • Perform Preventive Maintenance / Daily PM as needed.
  • Takes care of recycling scrap material appropriately as well as minimizing the amount of waste.
