Position Summary
Reporting to the Patient Care Services Director/Shift Manager of the assigned area, the Critical Care Technician performs duties under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN)/Charge Nurse and is responsible for providing high quality individualized basic care activities within the Critical Care Technician scope of practice.

Minimum Education: High School Diploma preferred.
Minimum Experience/Skills:
- Minimum one year of experience in similar department preferred, knowledge of medical terminology, basic computer knowledge.
- Previous patient care experience preferred.
- Must pass DMC Cardiac Dysrhythmia Exam with minimum score of 85%, and pass annual ECG competency.
License/Certificates/Credentials: Current BLS certification, basic dysrhythmia course and certificate of passing required,12 lead EKG interpretation course and certificate of passing required, must pass the DMC Cardiac Dysrhythmia Exam with minimum score of 85%, and pass annual DMC ECG competency. Paramedic, EMT, Military Corpsman, non-USA physician or nurse not credentialed in USA, Certified Nurses Aide, or Student Nurse who has successfully completed the second semester in an accredited school of nursing preferred.
Physical Demands:
- Prolonged, extensive or considerable standing/walking.
- Lift/position up to 50 lbs.
- Push/pull up to 50 lbs of force.
- Transfer patients, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, manual dexterity and mobility, ability to move quickly.
Vision Requirements: Ability to adjust vision sufficiently to perform duties.
Working Conditions: Regularly exposed to the risk of contagious and blood borne diseases, subject to varying and, unpredictable situations, exposure to unpleasant elements (accidents, injuries, illness), emergency and crisis situations, subject to irregular hours, occasional pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries, occasional exposure to radiation hazards, radioactive substances, and biohazards.

Pay Range: $23.00 - $25.03 hourly **Individual wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience
