Position Overview:

The Retail Leadership Program provides an engaging career experience from America’s largest specialty
apparel retailer for women and tween girls. This 12 week program will focus on the Premium Fashion
Segment and will provide the interns with a challenging hands-on experience in retail store leadership.
The program will include suggestions of topics to guide your interns learning, exposure to different
leaders, workshops, and lead & learns.
By participating in our program, interns will take away new skills, knowledge, and experience to to
their professional growth and future career endeavors. Below are some touchpoints that your intern will
participate in:
CLASSROOM TRAINING:
The following classes will be required for your intern to attend during the Retail Leadership Program.
Classes will be held virtually and will be scheduled and hosted by the Early Career Team/HR Manager.

CONTINUOUS COACHING:
We believe continuous coaching conversations enhance performance and builds trust. Store managers
and interns should meet on a weekly basis to have continuous coaching conversations to set and assess
progress to goals and discuss necessary support. In addition, interns and store managers will be required
to complete a Midpoint Check-in and a Final Check-in to discuss performance.
Frequent conversations, when things are going well:
• build the foundation to support performance and development and reinforce positive behavior
• help associates course correct when necessary and build skills for the future
• focus on appreciating and acknowledging each associate’s strengths and contributions while
reinforcing the leadership principles
LEAD & LEARN:
Functional touchpoints will be hosted with various leaders and associates, who will share their
knowledge and experiences. These opportunities will allow your intern to gain a broader understanding
of other roles and how they partner cross-functionally.

As an intern, you’ll focus on building the capability to analyze business trends and creatively demonstrate
results, all while learning the workings of a vertical retailer.

Lead & Learns are functional touchpoints with a variety of leaders and associates. The purpose of these
touchpoints is to expose you to the various roles and functions that comprise of the field and so you can
visualize what a day in the life in one of these positions looks like. Your SM will facilitate and set up the
touchpoints with leaders in the following roles if time permits:

Co-Manager:
As partner to the store manager, Co-Managers help drive results by attracting, selecting and developing
talent. Co-Managers also motivate associates to engage with customers and achieve their sales goals.

Store Manager:
By choosing the right people and inspiring them to be their best, Store Managers help achieve store’s
business and customer engagement goals. Strong leadership, communication skills and attention to detail
on all store activities is essential.

District Manager:
District Managers engage and grow their market by leading, coaching, and developing the store
management teams while networking to maintain a talent pool for recruiting. The District Manager’s ability
to forecast trends and manage the details of business operations is equally important to the success of the
district.

Regional Vice President:
The retail experience is one of the most important elements of our success, requiring the broadest range
of skills: people, merchandising, analysis & forecasting, and operations among them. Through excellent
leadership skills, Regional Vice Presidents emphasize business ownership over an entire market.

Human Resources Manager:
Human Resources Manager’s provide quality HR services to leaders and associates throughout our stores.
Their most important responsibilities include fostering a positive, engaging work environment, encouraging
the full use of associates’ diverse talents, serving as associate advocates, and driving key business initiatives.

Visual Market Manager:
The Visual Market Manager manages brand consistency, and execution within all store types in an assigned
market. Their responsibility is to act as a resource and trainer of the merchant mindset, communicating
global messages that will drive sales through improving our in store experience.
