Position Summary
The Nursing Manager is a registered nurse who oversees and coordinates the day-to-day operation of a department (s). He/she is using critical thinking skills coordinates the clinical activities within a specific unit(s) and collaborates with other members of the health care team to achieve specific unit(s) and hospital goals. She/he directly and indirectly supervises the care rendered by ancillary staff, ordering of supplies and equipment, and managing of direct reports.

Education:
- BSN required
- MSN preferred. Master's degree in nursing or related field (Health Administration, Business, or Management)
Experience: Required: 2-3 years of progressive management experience in a hospital environment as a manager or full-time charge nurse/related position specifically in ED and ICU.
License: Florida Registered Nurse
Certification:
- Required: Must be currently licensed, certified or registered to practice profession as required by law, regulation in state of practice or policy.
- ACLS and BLS required upon hire.
- PALS required within 6 months of hire and TNCC required/or acquired within 1 year of hire.
- CPI within 30 days of hire.
- NIH Stroke within 60 days of hire.
