DISTRICT LEADER - DRESSBARN
The District Leader supervises a group of stores and acts as the brand ambassador of dressbarn’s values and mission. District leaders are responsible for cultivating an environment of being customer obsessed, building brand loyalty and directing all activities required to drive and maximize results in their district.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Directs all activities required to driving top line sales, inventory, payroll and operational goals within a geographic market; challenges and develops Store Leaders to accomplish objectives, provides direction and sets priorities; monitors progress in achieving company goals and objectives.
- Ability to forecast and analyze business trends in order to maximize district performance and profitability.
- Builds an effective talent acquisition strategy for the district and retains top talent. Ensures stores are fully staffed and leadership pipeline is in place. Ensures Store Leaders receive a thorough on boarding experience.
- Drives associate engagement and influences and supports others to accomplish goals, recognizes behavior that supports organizational values and results. Builds an effective network within dressbarn and ascena.
- Takes responsibility for own development and provides a work culture of continuous learning, information sharing and professional leadership development.
- Prepares and conducts performance assessments for Store Leaders; recognizes performance gaps and coaches associates to take appropriate action.
- Coaches Store Leaders on standards for effective execution of workload planning, scheduling, and all operational standards. Instructs Store Leaders on visual SOP standards and techniques.
- Ability to organize, delegate, prioritize, meet deadlines, hold individuals and teams accountable and follow-up on all activities within the district. Coaches Store Leaders on methods to drive operational excellence and improve productivity.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- College degree preferred or a minimum of 2 years of multi store supervision
- Proven track record of increasing sales and store profitability
- Excellent communication, verbal, and written skills
- Possess strong analytical skills and business acumen
- Ability to develop and maintain effective business relationships
- Must have a strong interest in fashion trends and product knowledge
- Strong problem solving/conflict resolution skills and the ability to make sound decisions
- Basic skills in Microsoft office

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Communicate with associates and customers in a prompt, friendly and effective manner
- Be present to work a minimum of forty (40) hours per week
- Ability to work weekends and holidays when required by business needs
- Ability to travel up to 80% of the time
- Have regular attendance and be punctual for work at the store
- Be present and engaged with customers and associates on the sales floor during scheduled visits
- Stand, walk and/or move about the store during the scheduled visits
- Bend and twist and reach for and grasp objects at various levels (ground, waist, eye-level, overhead, etc.)
- Lift and carry at least 10 pounds and frequently lift and carry or push and pull at least 20 pounds
- Access all areas of the store including selling floor, backroom/stock area, and cash wrap area
