Summary

Medical Technologist Processes and tests all types of laboratory specimens.
Medical Technologist Reviews and reports lab results.
Medical Technologist Performs operational duties, maintenance and advanced troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
Medical Tech Acts as resource to other laboratory personnel.
Medical Tech Additional responsibility includes: Assisting with new equipment validation and implementation; Employee training and competency assessment; Regulatory compliance responsibilities for CAP, TCJ, AABB or other agencies, quality assurance, quality control and instrument maintenance.

Qualifications

Education

Required: Minimum of Associate, but Bachelor’s Degree preferred from an approved college or university and/or graduate of an accredited school of medical technology

Experience

Required: 2 or more years as a medical technologist in an acute care facility with demonstration of increasing responsibilities

Preferred: Minimum of 2 years Microbiology experience

Certifications

Required: Florida Medical Technologist Licensure
