We currently have an opportunity for a Regional Asset Protection Leader (NYC or NJ based) - ascena to join our team located at our Corp Remote Locations-ascena-Pataskala, OH 43062.Position Overview:
The Regional Asset Protection Leader is responsible for driving a low shrink and safety culture in a geographical area consisting of 250+ retail locations and approx. $400+M in revenue within the enterprise. They develop, monitor. and execute programs that create awareness around shrink, safety and integrity. Each Regional AP Leader partners with Field Leaders in the Brands/Segments to connect the store strategy with the asset protection strategy, and maximize field efforts in the reduction of shrink, margin erosion, and increased safety awareness and behaviors.
NOTE: This geographical market covers New York City, Northeast New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Strong preference for being based out of northern New Jersey or New York with close proximity to Manhattan.
Performance requirements
Strategic Management
- Develop and manage strategic initiatives and projects in conjunction AP and Field Leadership to produce gross margin impact, shrink reduction, and process improvements.
- Maintain frequent communication with Field and AP Leadership and provide them with guidance and information on store safety, shrink and security matters..
- Serve as a community liaison with law enforcement, other retail groups, other asset protection departments, etc., to recover merchandise or cash, prosecute cases, and facilitate restitution when warranted.
- Manage other strategic projects, as assigned, related to asset protection, shrink reduction, operational efficiencies and process improvements within the framework of ascena stores and the distribution network.
Training
- Develop, conduct and manage shrink awareness training to Field and Store Leadership through a variety of mediums.
- Independently and through Field Leader partnership, communicate store shrink prevention awareness by teaching and managing implementation through a variety of mediums.
- Manage company programs to alert store personnel in the geographic area of common problems/thefts or safety issues that may impact their store.
Asset Protection Application Management
- Ongoing management of department reports to identify and react to loss trends appropriately. Assist in the development of and revision to reporting processes.
- Actively investigate any/all concerns related to suspicious losses to determine situational facts; conduct interviews with all parties involved and resolve internal theft/fraud matters.
- Conduct internal investigations when warranted and submit written reports for each investigation to follow established guidelines. Formulate recommendations to avoid future losses and communicate those to the appropriate parties.
- Perform high shrink store visits to ensure compliance with company programs and to identify areas of loss and partner with the development of store shrink reduction strategies.

Work Experience and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred and eight years of multi-unit retail experience, including asset protection procedures knowledge
- LPC/CFI Industry certifications preferred
- Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills along with the ability to teach and develop the same skill sets in others
- Ability to interact and communicate with varying levels within the organization from store to executive
- Strong analytical skills sufficient to conduct research, determine relevance of information, and interpret meaning
- Advanced investigation, interview and interrogation skills (W-Z certified)
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to effectively work in collaboration with teams to achieve objectives in a participative management style
- Intermediate computer proficiency with applications such as Microsoft Office
- Familiarity with the management and training of exception-based management software packages
- 75% Travel Requirement (market includes: NYC, Northeast NJ, CT, MA & NH)
