Ecommerce/ATG Solution Architecture role.
SME for the ASCENA eCommerce Platform
Typically works on multiple medium to large ATG eCommerce projects (Agile PODS/Waterfall) that require increased skill in multiple technical environments.
Works on projects/issues of high complexity that require in-depth knowledge across multiple technical areas and business segments.
Coaches and mentors more junior technical staff.
- 20% Makes Design/implementation towards the development of new code or reuse of existing code. Has experience in systems analysis, design and a solid understanding of development, quality assurance and integration methodologies. Responsibilities may also include participation in component and data architecture design, performance monitoring, product evaluation and buy versus build recommendations.
- 20% Works closely with customers, business analysts, and team members to understand business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions. These solutions must be aligned with business and IT strategies and comply with the organization’s architectural standards. Demonstrates expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
- 20% Architecture, Designs, plans, and coordinates work teams. Leads and directs the work of others. May provide consultation on complex projects and is considered to be the top level contributor/specialist. Provides technical support to project team members.
- 20% Support (Production Support )existing systems to meet Service Level Agreements and user expectations including user communication, system/job recoveries, system/job performance and documentation. Adhere to and insure compliance security, standards and controls are integrated into each system including Sarbanes, PCI and general audit computer controls.
- 10 % Assist efforts to define future state architecture( Monolithic and cloud native) and roadmaps including architecture standards, guidelines, and industry best practices. Be part of new Digital initiatives like Chatbots, Microservices etc..
- 10% Involved in the full systems life cycle and is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, designing, coding, testing, debugging, documenting, implementing, maintaining and supporting application software that is delivered on time and within budget. Participates in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing, and certification of software.
- Responsible for POCs, performing peer code review and participating/leading various system integration activities.
- Develop and document technical solution designs and specifications that satisfy the functional and technical requirements for commerce implementation projects.
- The candidate need to possess solid “hands-on” technical, an excitement and energy for product development, and a passion for their work and the impact it has on meeting the needs of customer
- Actively involved in triaging and supporting production incidents and operations issues.
- Assess technical options for each solution component and integrations in a commerce implementation project; evaluate possible technologies and packages; make and defend technology and package recommendations.
- Establish coding and unit test standards, source control repository, build management system and release strategy for the technical delivery team on commerce implementation projects.
- Provide technical leadership to the team and be responsible for overall project design and build.
- Monitoring Application Performance as part of the continuous Integration pipeline and identifying performance issues early on in the Devops model by stress testing under load.
- Must ensure that architecture allows meeting time-to-market, exceeding quality targets, quick diagnosis of problems in the field, quick diagnosis of issues during product development and requirements evolution (scalable / extensible).
- 8 to 12 Years of experience in IT
- 4-6 years of experience in ATG
- Must have worked on design and as an Architect for 4+ yrs on ecommerce applications of large size.
- Expert in performing Application tuning and Profiling
- Experience to Micro services technologies and Devops & cloudops
- Extensive experience in delivering AGILE based SDLC
- experience with one or more of the following: ReactJs/AngularJS, ApiGee/Loopback/Swagger, Spring Boot, Cassandra/MongoDB, Redis, Nginx
- Experience with containerization (e.g., Docker) and Container Management software (Kubernetes)
- Expert in setting up continuous Integration / continuous delivery using Hybrid architecture of ATG and Cloud
- Experience in environment sizing
- Experience in defining one or more following architecture aspects: Availability, Cloud Traffic Management, Maintainability, Operability, Scalability and Portability
- Expertise in ATG Dynamo Framework, ATG Servlet Beans, ATG Repositories, FormHandlers, Extending ATG Profile and Profile Management, Dynamo Messaging System, Transaction Management, Basic knowledge of ATG Scenarios & Personalization Framework.
- Expertise in ATG Catalog Organization, Navigation & Search, Pricing & Promotions, Shopping Cart, Purchase Process & and Order Processing pipeline, ATG Catalog Organization, Navigation & Search, Pricing & Promotions, Shopping Cart, Purchase Process & and Order Processing pipeline
- Java, J2EE (Servlets, JSP, JDBC, JMS, Transactions), Web Services, XML/XSLT, Java script
- Technical team management experience including offshore team members
- Excellent personal communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Proven problem solving skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.
- Experience in using APM tools Dynatrace/AppDynamics
- Expected to work on production support based on the role and program assigned.
- Expected to work as on-call support outside planned business and shift hours.
