Experienced Systems Engineer responsible to install, upgrade, patch, troubleshoot, and maintain application software and middleware in coordination with application development and infrastructure teams. Must have an understanding of Windows, Linux, and AIX/UNIX operating systems, Oracle and SQLServer databases, web servers/services, application servers, network and security protocols, data storage solutions, file system construction and management. Also, must have experience and proficiency in working with application software vendors.

As we will continue to move our HR Applications towards the cloud, this role will change in time towards the role of Site Reliability Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Must install, upgrade, patch, troubleshoot, and maintain application software and middleware
• Must have experience and proficiency in working with application software vendors
• Proficient in solving complex problems and designing appropriate solutions
• Proficient in documenting technical requirements
• Proficient in creating process flows and documentation required for implementation
• Proficient in creating data structures and querying data bases
• Proficient in developing, executing and documenting test plans
• Maintain effective and professional communication, escalate project related issues timely
• time management techniques to meet established deadlines for assigned tasks
• Proactively coordinate with other teams to solve problems, support and coordinate system implementations
• Provide on-call support of production applications
• Able to work special shifts when required to support special projects or activities
• Stay abreast of current technology trends as it relates to development languages, tools and data bases
• Must be capable of working well within a team environment
• Must be able to mentor others in technical activities
• Must adhere to all corporate policies and standards
