We currently have an opportunity for a Industrial Engineer to join our team located at our DC-Riverside DC-ascena, CA 92508.Position Overview:
The Industrial Engineer will lead cross-functional teams through capital and process improvement initiatives related to materials handling, control systems, and labor management for the Distribution Center and Supply Chain Network. This role manages an operational support team and provides productivity information and guidance to operational leaders.
Performance requirements:
- Supports the team by conducting ongoing analysis of the Distribution Center processes, storage and equipment requirements, and operational management tools to identify opportunities to improve Distribution Center efficiencies/productivity and reduce operating cost per unit
- Supports the maintenance and enhancement of the labor management program through the refinement of engineered standards and best method practices.
- Work as part of the Engineering team to analyze Distribution Center methods and operations through time studies, value mapping and other methods to improve material flow efficiencies and cost effectiveness. Work with AutoCad in order to develop and maintain facility and MHE layouts. Provide leadership and subject matter expertise in order to identify requirements for material handling equipment and tools
- Assists with change management initiatives utilizing project and change management techniques and skills
- Partner with Operations as the subject matter expert in order to trouble shoot system issues
- Work with material handling vendors to ensure adequate pricing and management of deliverables
Work Experience and education requirements:
- BS in Industrial Engineering or related field
- 0 - 2 years Industrial Engineering experience in a Distribution Center and/or Supply Chain environment
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States on an ongoing, permanent basis without sponsorship
- Working knowledge of Distribution Center storage, automation, and operations
- Relevant work in engineered labor standards and labor management programs, including process documentation and work instruction documentation
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal, communication, conflict resolution, and leadership skills
- Demonstrated competency as a change agent with the ability to manage and lead small teams
- Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills and the ability to drive results
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to operate on tight deadlines
- Strong working knowledge of MS Excel, MS Project, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, AutoCAD, and Visio
- A working knowledge of Manhattan’s WMS and Dematic’s WCS functionality in a retail distribution center
