Oracle Database Administrator II

What you'll do:
Under the supervision of the senior level team members, this mid-level database administrator manages and maintains all production and non-production databases. Responsible for following and enforcing company database standards, maintenance activities, as well as access and security administration. Performs backup and recovery, patching and upgrades. This position facilitates database access reviews for SOX and PCI, allocates/re-allocates database resources for optimum configuration. Works with both senior and junior team members in the day-to-day support and operations of the ascena database environment.
Position Responsibilities:
- Administers Oracle database RAC environments.
- Maintains database architecture documentation.
- Troubleshooting and performance tuning Oracle databases.
- Working with application owners to resolve database issues.
- Operations and Monitoring of the environment.
- Patching and upgrades.
- Performing backup and cloning.
- Participates in the 24/7 on-call rotation
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline is required, and an advanced degree is a plus
- Minimum of 5 years of Oracle Database Administration experience
- Hands-on experience administering Oracle databases version 9i, 10g, 11g and 12c. Experience with Administering Oracle RAC is required.
- Experience installing and configuring Oracle databases on physical, virtual and RAC environment is required
- Experience with performance tuning in RAC environment
- Experience with RMAN backup/restore and cloning
- Experience with Oracle Grid 12c monitoring
- Exadata experience is required.
- Excellent knowledge of P/L SQL
- Demonstrated ability to create batch scripts for task automation
- Experience with mid to large size organizations
- Demonstrated ability to be highly organized and results driven
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience supporting Retail application databases is a plus
- Experience with MS-SQL, IBM Netezza, Cassandra or Teradata is a plus
- Relative certifications are plus, such as Oracle OCA, OCP, OCM
- Experience with Sarbanes Oxley and or PCI is a plus.
- Ability to be on call 24x7 and have a flexible work schedule
