Foot Locker is seeking a 1st Shift Distribution Center Manager. This role oversees the daily operation of the Distribution Center by leading and coordinating activities of associates, and evaluating operating methods and procedures for improvements and total quality. This position will focus on innovative and creative ways to achieve desired results in the areas of accuracy, productivity, service, safety, quality, cost effectiveness and growth and development of Associates.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve or exceed productivity targets and lead productivity initiatives.
  • Partner and coordinate with Operations management to ensure seamless transition between shifts.
  • Collaborate with support departments to ensure consensus on policies and procedures.
  • Build and execute appropriate development plans including bench strength.
  • Manage a safe workplace by advocating safety training and accident preparedness.
  • Troubleshoot and provide support on all Operations matters.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively to a variety of audiences.
  • Collaborate across departments to drive optimal productivity.
  • Foster an environment in which diverse backgrounds are respected and valued.
  • Ensure performance plans are set, maintained, and continuously improved.
  • Generate creative solutions to identify improvements in processes.
  • Foster an environment of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Manage the growth of the Direct To Consumer Operations and facility.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university
  • At least two plus years of management experience in a Distribution Center environment
  • Previous experience in Direct-To-Consumer and Store Fulfillment highly preferred
  • Staff mentoring and development
  • Teamwork and interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate with customers, associates, and senior management
  • A demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.
  • An ability to think ahead and plan over a 3-6 month time span
  • The ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
  • Technical skills in materials and inventory management, production scheduling, and preventive maintenance
