General Summary The Pricing Principal is responsible for overall coordination, status reporting and stability of complex and cross-functional costing and pricing new and existing deals, presenting findings to senior leadership, and tracking progress against the original analysis. The successful candidate will be driven, self-motivated, and will support the company’s strategic vision as it relates to new business and customer portfolio management. In addition, this role will lead and advance projects deemed a priority by the organization and Senior Manager. The role will also manage the most complex pricing opportunities and lead the effort for highly strategic account analysis. This role will have significant exposure to executive management and is critical to the organization’s long-term profitability through active portfolio analytics and management. Provides mentoring for the development of those in less senior positions. Primary Responsibilities Advanced understanding of operational design, workflows and layouts for large-scale, complex supply chain operations. Advanced/intuitive understanding of engineering analysis, innovation and experience within the target market to provide differentiating solutions. Perform advanced modeling utilizing MS Excel and other tools in support of the recommended operation solution design. Perform and review strategic, financial analysis to drive optimal business processes and take advantage of program/customer synergies and growth potentials. Creates, maintains and reviews cost/price analysis models to improve productivity and drive program profitability, especially for the new programs. Analyzes and reviews financial and operational performance, provides concise, relevant explanations, observations and/or recommendations to leadership and executive management. Develop standard models that produce accelerated and accurate results for opportunities that require standard solutions Subject matter expert in the use of optimization/decision support tools to perform global supply chain studies, routing optimization and operating cost analyses. May act as the sole pricing and solutions single POC for small, quick turn warehousing opportunities Reviews, provides feedback and populates cost models with all required data to support the complete and accurate costing and pricing of solutions. Present pricing models to internal customers including solutions and senior management teams Review, support and present solutions, data, and models to external customers including Procurement, Operational Managers and senior leadership teams. Interface as required with customers and various internal cross functional groups. Support the analyses of a potential Customers’ facilities, operations, supply chain and associated data as part of the new business development process. Liaise with internal departments (IT, QA, Purchasing, Operations, Sales, Inventory Control, Finance, Human Resources, Project Management, Engineering, and Maintenance) as required on opportunities. Advanced financial and business acumen to drive sound business decisions through advising executive level management Advise sales regarding applicable pricing strategies to achieve and meeting both internal and external financial goals Education/Experience Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred (i.e. Financial and/or Supply Chain) and a minimum of 10-12 years of relevant experience. In lieu of degree, high school diploma or GED and a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience. Knowledge of robotics, conveyance, automatic sortation equipment, material handling equipment, and product storage systems desirable. Experience in a corporate financial analysis function or other analytical function (pricing, finance, engineering, operations functions would provide a strong background for this position). Experience in pricing and/or solutions for 3PL or similar industry is required Strong understanding of statistics and the ability to statistical concepts in practice. Advanced understanding of 3PL warehousing operational processes and facility layouts Advanced level of competency with MS Office Tools (Word, Excel, Project, Power Point, Visio, Access and other simulation tools).
