Ecommerce Technology - Front End Developer

Position Overview:

In 2017, Ascena Retail Group continues with our next phase of Selling Systems’ expansion. This role represents a once in a lifetime opportunity to join a well-known specialty apparel retailer as they embark on a journey focused on providing our client’s with a best in class e-commerce shopping experience. The following role will be accountable for strategically positioning Ascena for success as we deploy a series of functional releases as well as large scale transformational initiatives on behalf of our Selling Systems operating unit. The position will focus on building responsive and elegant user interfaces using latest web technologies and user centered design concepts, reporting into the Sr. Manager of Architecture & Delivery at ANN INC. This role is expected to stay abreast of trends / new technologies by playing a key role in helping Ascena build our next generation web sites and applications;

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement solutions of high performing and reusable code for UI components.
• Build, review and modify high fidelity and low fidelity prototypes to support iterative and agile development process.
• Analyze usability and work with digital user experience team to continually enhance user experience of our web sites.
• Utilizes expertise and skills to lead project team members to follow best practices for usability and performance design of user interface.
• Communicates with project team members and stakeholders to provide timely and accurate information and status updates.
• Working in a collaborative team environment.
• Being highly motivated to accomplish team goals in a fast paced environment.
• Develop detailed technical specifications based on standards and guidelines.
• Develop code to specifications, based on standard development and documentation standards, best practices and per compliance rules.
• Track and resolve functional defects of varying sizes and severity
• Participate in structured team code reviews to make sure the code developed by the team members follows the same guiding principles described above.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of overall professional software development experience and recent team management experience of smaller to midsize teams.
• 1+ years of Development experience on the front end technologies, preferably in ecommerce domain
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Solid understanding and knowledge of the SDLC process, preferably using Agile.
• Complete understanding of the web security vulnerabilities and pitfalls (OWASP).
• In addition, the following are critical skills required (or desired, where noted) to perform well in this position:

  Hands on Experience with Angular/React

  Highly experienced with JavaScript /JQuery

  Experience with BackboneJS, UnderscoreJS, modernizr

  Experience with NodeJS, Grunt, Gulp, Webpack or other workflow tools.

  Hands on experience with next generation distributed cloud technologies

  Hands on experience working with RESTful services

  Develop and perform unit testing, identify & fix defects and support defect analysis and resolution in integrated environments

  Work with Scrum team to develop and define application scope and objectives and prepare functional and/or technical specifications using Agile methodologies

  Collaborate with engineers and graphic designers, analyzes and classify complex change requests and reviews and evaluates possible enhancements.

  Analyze and evaluate detailed business and technical requirements, trouble-shooting systems.

  Code and maintain complex components of information systems.

  Develop and maintain active relationships with the business to better understand business requirements.

  Preferred - Hands on Experience with Spring Framework (Spring MVC, Spring REST, Spring Data)

  Preferred - BUILDS automation software such Jenkins or Bamboo
