The Operations Supervisor is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of daily work in the areas of Inbound, Replenishment, Picking/Packing, and Outbound functions. This includes the timely distribution of work assignments to complete all work within the time frame given. Oversees the organization of manpower to be able to effectively communicate all work assignments to floor Leads and staff members. The Operations Supervisor is responsible for managing a total of 20-50 employees including up to two subordinate Utilities that assist in the day-to-day operations. He or she carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. The Supervisor will have full responsibility for executing all operation programs, policies, and systems within the Logistics department. This role is responsible for providing efficient and effective coordination of their work unit, which includes understanding their team and motivating them to achieve organizational and professional goals.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for balancing the daily volume with inbound receipts and wave picking creating a steady throughput to downstream departments
  • Provide effective supervision of Utilities, Associates and assist them with ongoing development in a performance work environment
  • Responsibilities for interviewing, hiring, training employees, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems
  • Monitor and address departmental metrics such as productivity and quality as directed by the Manager
  • Hold daily staff meetings interpreting and presenting information to associates such as daily workloads, goals, operational changes and safety rules
  • Review and approve all associates time clock entries in timekeeping and production management systems; making any corrections as needed within the designated time frames
  • Properly follows company and OSHA safety procedures as well as all applicable municipal, state and federal laws regarding safety
  • Communicates information to the manager, safety supervisor or HR as needed
  • Cross train core associates in all departments

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree or higher in Logistics, Operations Management, Supply Chain or related field or equivalent years of work related experience
  • Comprehensive experience working with Microsoft Office 365
  • Previous knowledge of automated DC Systems (Manhattan WMOS) and current RF technology preferred
  • Bilingual a plus, but not required
  • Must be able to work weekends during increased peak time frames of the year
