Small Combatant & Surface Systems Autonomy System Architect

Job ID: 545248BR Date posted: Dec. 01, 2020 Locations: Moorestown, New Jersey; Baltimore, Maryland; New Jersey Description:The Small Combatant and Surface Ships (SCSS)Team is looking for Autonomy System Architect who will be responsible for leading diverse teams of engineers to define the system architecture for advanced autonomous solutions across multiple ship platforms including the Large Unmanned Surface Vehicle (LUSV). The chosen candidate will be engaged in the technical execution of system architecture development activities across the full ship development life cycle, including requirements generation, system and software design, implementation, integration and test. This position will also support the logistics support strategy that will be automated as part of ship CONOPS. The candidate will possess passion for conceptualizing, building, testing and maturing autonomous systems and be able to drive the architecture to implement an architecture for the LUSV.
Basic Qualifications:
15 years’ experience in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering Field or Related Discipline
Demonstrated experience as both a technical leader and individual contributor across multiple DoD Program
Experience in performing multiple Systems Engineering functions, such as:
- System Trade studies and/or System modeling
- System architecture or CONOPS development
- Requirements and Interface Control Document (ICD) development
- System Integration, Test and/or Verification
- Experience with DOORS or other formal requirements management tools
- Design reviews
Experience with Autonomous Systems and architectures including US Navy Unmanned Marine Autonomy Architecture (UMAA)
Strong team collaboration, communication and presentation skills
U.S. Citizen and ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
Desired Skills:
Proficiency in the following engineering tools: [SysML/ Magic Draw, DOORS, MATLAB, Architecture Framework such as DoDAF]
Master’s Degree in Systems Engineering or applicable subject area, INCOSE Certification
Experience with US Navy Unmanned Marine Autonomy Architecture
Experience in physical and empirical based model building and testing
Demonstrated behaviors of a systems thinker; selects and applies appropriate systems problem solver skills to solve sophisticated problems and implement constructive changes
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong social skills, and ability to build consensus among peers while building solid relationships with team members, leadership, and customers
Ability to work in a fast-paced, synergetic team environment
