Foot Locker is on the cutting edge of on-line retail technology. Our evolution has led us to improve our systems and strengthen our teams.  We are searching for a Director of Data Strategy and Engagement to join Foot Locker’s Data Organization. This forward-thinking leader will be a thought partner with business units to leverage data capabilities in strategic decision making.  As an integral leader in our innovative, data-driven environment, youwill partner with the Data leadership and Business teams to shape and achieve the strategic aspirations of organizational units and be part of a team of consultative individuals to scale across our business functions.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with global executive leadership to s hape the broad analytic vision for Foot Locker, Inc. , ensure alignment across global business units, and facilitate progress
  • Identify opportunities and partner with business executives to set priority, manage expectations , facilitate change needed to activate insights, and measure impact
  • D econstruct problems and goals to form a clear picture for hypothesis generation and use best practices around analytic approaches and technology to solve business challenges
  • Proactively shape and nurture the vision and practice of the global data strategy and engagement team
  • Recruit, retain, and motivate a highly effective team of engagement leaders and quantitative analysts; Manage their performance and growth , teach executive engagement skills , and develop potential successors
  • Present frequently to senior leadership team on key findings and makes recommendations for business chang e
  • Participate in the capital and expense plan for all areas of the Data organization . Forecast return on capital projects and ensure delivery and activation to achieve planned targets
  • E nsure the successful adoption and usage of data products into business through stakeholder management, training, and business process change when and where needed
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with business users and agile teams through all phases of the development life cycle
  • Maintain knowledge on the latest Data technology and best practices

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Accounting, Finance and/or Management Information Systems, MBA preferred
  • Strategic and operational consulting firm experience post MBA preferred with a CPG/retail/omni-channel concentration or business planning experience at a leading CPG or retail firm
  • Deep expertise in two or more of the following areas: Marketing Analytics and CRM, Merchandise Planning, Inventory Management, Geo-spatial intelligence, Field operations.
  • Intermediate experience with Data Science methodologies, Analytics use cases, and Data Engineering constructs.
  • Knowledge of basic statistics, data manipulation, and research methods; Intermediate/advanced Microsoft Office product skills (e.g. Access, Excel, PowerPoint, VBA)
  • Organizational management and p eople management skills, having led a team of significant size in complex, multi-stakeholder setting(s)
  • Must demonstrate the ability to interpret business data and translate into insightful recommendations
  • Presentation skills and strong executive presence
